A strawberry pie is the summer motif of this dessert painting. Strawberry pie is made when the first strawberries of the season ripen in early summer. Kitchens and bakeries suit it.
The oil paint is built up in thick impasto layers, so the food stands out from the surface as a physical relief. The painting is by Ukrainian artist Christina Kunanets. It is an original and exists only once.
The painting measures 61 x 61 cm (24 x 24 in) and is about 1.5 cm (0.6 in) deep. It is painted on stretched canvas. The finished surface is protected with a varnish.
