A matcha bagel with a matcha latte on a blue plate is the motif here, with a nod to chinoiserie. Matcha, the powdered green tea from Japan, flavors both the bagel and the drink. Tea rooms and bakeries suit it.
The oil paint is built up in thick impasto layers, so the food stands out from the surface as a physical relief. The painting is by Ukrainian artist Christina Kunanets. It is an original and exists only once.
The painting measures 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 in). It is painted on a round stretched canvas. The finished surface is protected with a varnish.
